FOLLOWING IN THE FOODSTEPS OF THE MASTER

“Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going. 

"No, we don't know, Lord," Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” - John 14:1-5 NLT

The Way:

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!” - John 14:6-7 

So we see that the Father is where we are heading for /need to go to. He is the destination/GOAL!

Now how to get there is what Christ came to open up and demonstrate!

1. Know Christ

1= The Way, The Truth and The Life (14:6), John 17:3 , Ephesians 1:17-23

2. Lean, Depend Completely, Totally and Absolutely on Christ ALONE

2= ​​Phil. 3:3 , 6-11 ,  Col. 2:2-10 , Gal.3:22 ,  John 15:1-5

3. Follow in the footsteps of the Master!

3= John 14:12 , 

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. - John 14:12 

A= Love like Christ , John 15:7-10 , 12-14, 17

B= Follow Christ , Matt. 4:19 (Fishers of men), John 21:20-22

C= Do the work! 2 Tim. 4:5 , Matthew 28:18-20 , Mark 16:15-18 

Love like Christ

John 15:7-10 , ⁷  But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!  ⁸  When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

⁹  “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.  ¹⁰  When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father's commandments and remain in his love.

12-14, 17 ¹²  This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.  ¹³  There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.  ¹⁴  You are my friends if you do what I command.

¹⁷  This is my command: Love each other.

Follow Christ

Matt. 4:19 ¹⁹  Jesus called out to them,  “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”

Things to do/Do the work!:

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. - Matthew 28:18-20 

¹⁵  And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.  ¹⁶  Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.  ¹⁷  These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.  ^​​18  They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”
